Querciabella at Clos Maggiore
For one night only, on Monday 18th June, Clos Maggiore will be hosting an intimate six-course dinner dedicated to an exquisite range of biodynamic wines from Italian winery, Querciabella.
Set in the private dining room, the evening will be hosted by Export Manager, Giorgio Fragiacomo who will introduce the selection of organically produced, sustainable wines, explaining the estates history and processes behind their farming practices.
Founded in 1974 by passionate wine connoisseur, Giuseppe Castiglioni, Querciabella has been a symbol of excellence for more than 30 years, receiving high levels of critical aclaim throughout the world.
With vineyards located throughout Tuscany’s Chianti Classico and Maremma regions, it produces award-winning wines through natural winemaking practices and environmental philosophies which give a nod to Italy’s viticultural past whilst remaining forward-thinking.
Guests will have the opportunity to taste a selection of wines, including the elegant 2009 Batàr – a blend of Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, with peach and apricot flavours interwoven with mineral and sweet toasted oak notes; the 2008 Palafreno – a rich, deep, monovarietal Merlot; the 1999 Camartina – a full-bodied, mature wine from a stand-out vintage that brims with character; and the 2009 Querciabella Chianti Classico – a well structured, fruity sangiovese.
With an award-winning wine list boasting over two thousand bins, Clos Maggiore in Covent Garden is an apt setting for the dinner. Head chef, Marcellin Marc, has created an imaginative menu to perfectly compliment the wines, providing a memorable evening for fine food and wine enthusiasts alike.
The six-course menu paired with wine is £95 per person, and includes a glass of Franciacorta on arrival.
